Today I’m sharing a simple 4 pocket fold that can be used as a stand alone project, gift, added to a mini album, scrapbook layout or a junk journal. It’s the perfect stash busting project. Grab a piece of pretty paper from your stash and craft along with me.
This pocket can be created in a variety of sizes. You could probably start with any rectangular piece of pattern paper. I’ve started with an 8″ x 6″ ; 10″ x 8″ and 12″ x 10″ and they all turned out great!
The process for creating the pocket is the same regardless of your paper size. Here’s a video where I walk you through creating one using a 10″ x 8″ piece of pretty paper.
Small Pocket
My friend Laura shared this fold with me at my crop earlier this month and gave me this sample to add to my play book. This version was created using an 8″ x 6″ piece of pattern paper. I came across this 3″ x 4″ card (from Cocoa Daisy I think) that I tucked into the pocket because it seemed like a great match.
This one is kept inside one of the pockets of the largest one I created to also include as a sample in my play book. The small one doesn’t have any adhesive along the bottom so that I can open it up as a reminder on how to recreate the pocket.
Large Pocket
The largest pocket was created with a 12″ x 10″ piece of pattern paper as the base. The small pocket gets tucked into the front pocket. I punched holes in this one so that I could add it to my playbook. To fill it, I went through my stash to see what I could find that kind of coordinates.
I found a fairy themed post card, a dandelion print and then created a tag out of a cut apart sheet of pattern paper from my stash. The pocket itself is created from a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s True Blue Florals DSP (December 2025’s product of the month).
If you document in a 6″ x 8″ album – this would fit inside perfectly! You could fill the pockets with photos, journaling tags, post cards and other memorabilia.
Medium Pocket
The medium sized pocket is created from a 10″ x 8″ piece of pattern paper and the one I can see myself creating over and over. It’s such a great size to fill with little bits and bobs and pop in the mail. You can add page flags, a little notebook, a book mark, post card, sticky notes etc. The options are endless.
Here’s what I tucked into this one. The base (and notebook) is created from a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s Everyday Happiness DSP. The book mark, post card and two ephemera pieces are from my stash.
In the video linked above I create another medium pocket using the Brushed with Beauty DSP. I also share how I created the little notepad.
Until next time,
