Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global December 2024 blog hop. Thank you so much for joining us. This month we are working with a sketch with the added element of wet or dry embossing.
As part of the Scrapbooking Global design team we participate in a monthly blog hop and challenges but anyone can join in if they’d like. We’d love to have you join us! Be sure to join the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group so you know when the sign up starts for our next hop and for more scrapbooking inspiration!
Here’s a look at the sketch…
Let’s take a look at the layout
I stuck pretty close to the sketch as far as the positioning of everything but not too much else. My photo orientation and number is different, I used hearts instead of circles and I left off any journaling. Because this is going into a wedding album, journaling isn’t needed on every layout. The photos are self explanatory and the who, what, where, when is already in the album. I’ve been adding in some journaling that include my thoughts & feelings throughout the album so didn’t need to include any on this particular layout.
Instead of adding lots of die cut hearts, I used a combination of die cut, stamped and paper pierced hearts. This is a great way to add a bit of variation to the background and fill in some of the white space without it being too busy. To create the paper pierced hearts I simply used one of the die cut hearts as a template and pierced holes around the shape using my piercing tool. The hearts are from the Hearts of Elegance dies – one of my current favourite die sets. Check out these two fun fold cards using them.
The scripty words stamped in the background, are from a stamp set that will be available to customers beginning January 7th, 2025 called Elements of Text. I’ve used this set so much already! It’s perfect for adding a little something to a project.
After finishing my layout, I realized I completely forgot to include embossing on it. However, one of the hearts has a debossed pattern to it – does that count? Or maybe the paper piercing that I added to the layout can count? I’m going to say that it does lol:)
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed my layout share. Be sure to hop through the list below for more inspiration.
Until next time,

I love your layout! I used hearts on mine too! I love the idea of the pierced hearts. I am going to have to figure out how to do that!
