In today’s post I’m sharing a Notes from the Heart Paper Pumpkin layout. I’ve used the contents of the December 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit, along with a few other supplies to create this layout. I say it every month when my kit arrives, Paper Pumpkin makes creating layouts so quick & easy!
When my kit arrives each month I usually create one of each of the projects to familiarize myself with the contents of the kit. The next project I create is a scrapbook layout, which is what I’m sharing today. This year I’ve added in the challenge to use up the rest of the kit contents before the end of the month. It’s been fun!
This months kit includes all the supplies to create 9 beautiful cards (3 each of 3 designs). Here’s a look at them.
If you are new to Stampin’ Up! and wondering what Paper Pumpkin is? It is the BEST crafting subscription kit!

Let’s take a look at this months layout…
As soon as I saw the scallop card bases I had the idea to turn them into frames. But not to frame a photo, just to add interest to the background of a layout. To create them, I cut the bases in half and then used my trimmer to create a 1/2″ border around the edges. I share a step-by-step in this video.
After creating the frames, I wanted to add some colour, so I used my blending brushes, pretty in pink ink and a scripty stamp from a new stamp set called Elements of Text that will be available beginning January 7th.
Before adhering the frames, I used the packaging technique with some pretty in pink ink to add a bit of colour to the white background. If you aren’t familiar with the packaging technique, I have a video here showing you how it’s done. After that it was just a matter of figuring out where I wanted my embellishment clusters.
I’m happy with the way the layout came together! This was such a great kit. I’ve already used the rest of the contents to create some additional cards which I’ll share with you in early January for the APPT blog hop.
Until next time,
