What a Year Pocket Page

Today’s memory keeping Monday post is a What a Year pocket page. I can’t believe that I’ve just begun creating with the What a Year Memories & More cards and it will soon be retired! It’s such a bright, cheerful kit. You can find some cards I created with it here.

Our family album this year is a smaller album (about 4″ x 8″). It’s been fun to play with a different size and I love that it’s a combination of full pages and pocket pages.

Step-by-Step Process

1. For the page on the left I started with a white base and then added some pool party ink with a blending brush.
2. Then I took the birthday greeting from the Your Biggest Fan stamp set and stamped it several times over the background with pool party ink.
3. After tearing the short end of a scrap of pale papaya shimmer vellum I added that over top of the blended and stamped background.
4. The 3″ x 4″ photo was added to the page along with the colourful striped strip from one of the 3″ x 4″ cards from the What a Year Memories & More card pack.
5. I cut the word celebrate from one of the 4″ x 6″ cards and then added it over top.
6. The last step was to add some of the acrylic stars that I had in my stash.

The right page came together really quickly. The top pocket is simply a 3″ x 4″ card with a word strip from my stash added on with dimensionals.

All of the items I used on this page are from the kit that I put together for my upcoming Scrap Your Stash class. I love creating kits from my stash and working with them.
