Today I’m sharing this Two Toned Flora sympathy card which features a fun, and simple technique and a peek at some new products to be released in January.
There’s actually two simple techniques that I share on this card and a peek at two upcoming bundles – the Two Toned Flora bundle and the Something Fancy bundle. Both will be available to purchase beginning January 5th, 2023.
The first technique is a masking paper border – gives the look of a mat, without an extra layer of card stock. I simply cut four 1/4″ strips of masking paper and lined them up with the edges of my white layer. Then added my ink and splattering. When you peel back the masking paper it reveals this crisp white border! Check out the video below to see how it’s done.
The second technique is just some splattering, with water, onto an ink blended background. Simple but I love the end result!
If you’d like to recreate this card, here are the measurements.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Balmy Blue: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
- Basic White: 3-3/4″ x 5″ and 2″ x 8-1/2″ strip for stamping and die cutting
- White Ribbon: 6″
- Iridescent Pearls: x3
Don’t forget to check out my upcoming Share a Milkshake Masking Paper technique class for more masking paper techniques. Registration has been extended until December 18th.
