In today’s blog post I’m sharing 3 project ideas using hexagon dies. I’ll be using the Meant to Bee dies from Stampin’ Up! but these ideas could be recreated using any nesting hexagon dies or shapes.
You can see how these three projects come together in the video linked below.
When you cut the hexagons from the Meant to Bee dies, you get the full hexagon shape and a hexagon frame. If you are using dies that don’t give you the frame, you can get one by nesting two dies together and die cutting them.
For the Books Card
This first card using the inside layer (embossed) and two frames to create a fun background for our focal point and greeting. To add some dimension to the white card base, I’ve used a couple of the stamps from the Elements of Text stamp set. This would make a great birthday card for a book lover!
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Crumb Cake: 4″ x 4-1/4″ (die cut 3rd smallest hexagon)
- Basic White: 4″ x 4-1/4″ (x2) (die cut two of the 3rd smallest hexagon die); 2″ x 3″ for stamping
- Twine: 8″
- Matte Dots: x2
Attention Shoppers Shaker Card
For the second card, I wanted to create a shaker but I didn’t have any window sheets so I got creative and used one of Stampin’ Up!’s 3″ x 3″ flip flaps.

- Basic White: 3″ x 4″ for stamping
- White Twine: 6″
