Today I’m sharing a fun paper crafted home decor project idea and a few versions of it thanks to a few crafters at my last retreat. At my retreats I will often leave a little something for everyone to do what they want with. It’s often something that can be altered like a blank wood piece, a frame or box of some kind.
I’m always on the hunt for inexpensive, alterable items. I pick them up whenever I see them and have a bin full of them in my craft storage closet lol. At the last retreat I gave everyone a 7-1/2″ wood round that I picked up at Dollarama.
Let’s take a look…
This first one is what I created with it. I plan to add a photo to it (likely of my grand puppies) and then stand it on a plate stand. It’ll be a great addition to my fall decor. All the products are from the Autumn to Remember scrapbooking workshop kit.
This first one was created by my friend Nicole. She used the Sentimental Christmas DSP which was part of her goodie bag to cover the wood piece. Then repurposed the greeting from one of her pillow gifts! Wouldn’t this make a great gift idea for the holidays?
Tracey used products from the Nests of Winter suite to decorate hers for the holiday season. That birch pattern paper is one of my all time favourites!
Kathy went with a fall theme for hers and used the Autumn Expressions bundle from the 2024 Stampin’ Up! September to December mini. I love this fun photo of her grand kids! The heart die cut is from a new set of dies called Hearts of Elegance that will be available to order beginning November 5th, 2024.
Donna was inspired by this project and created a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer themed project. She used the Reindeer Fun dies to die cut the deer, alphabet a la mode dies for the letters ‘MERRY’ and the Peaceful Season dies for the Christmas. This is going to be a fabulous addition to her Christmas decor. I’m sure her grand kids will love it.
Carla documented a fun photo of her kids using products with a vintage feel to them (possibly 49 & Market). I love all the distressed and torn edges and how she used scraps as tuck ins to back the photo. So pretty!
I love this little perk at my retreats. It always amazes me just how different everyone’s project ends up being. I’m always on the hunt for inexpensive, alterable items. I pick them up whenever I see them and have a bin full of them in my craft storage closet lol.
Until next time,
