Before Christmas, I had posted the photo above on Instagram sharing that I was working on some handmade gifts. I thought I’d share some of the finished projects with you. I enjoyed making them once I figured out the tricks of working with vinyl.
These started out as dinged up wooden charger plates that we had. We never used them and I was going to just donate them. But they were really nice chargers and not cheap. I put them away thinking that I would come up with a project idea down the road and I’m glad I did!
I used some chalk paint that I had leftover from a few other projects and painted them. Then I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a few sayings related to family from vinyl. I love how they turned out and no two are alike!
They aren’t perfect, some of the words are crooked and not completely centered. It’s funny that I don’t notice the imperfections until I take a photo of a project! Regardless I still love how they turned out. And I love that I was able to use something that I had on hand.
They can be used in a plate stand or hung on the wall. I loved it so much, I made one for myself but I still need to add a few paper flowers. I want to dress it up a bit. I can’t have a project that doesn’t include paper on it! I am, after all, a paper crafter!
I have a couple extras, available to purchase. They will be in my little ‘shop’ that I’m working on in my studio. I’m hoping to be ready to share a little tour within the next week or two.
Have a creative day!
