For this weeks scrap your stash project, I’m sharing this Let’s Go Oilers TN layout. Although this is a smaller layout (about 4″ x 8-1/4″), I still managed to use some products from my stash.
I admit that I’ve been putting off documenting this photo because I don’t have anything hockey related. To jump start my creative mojo, I pulled out the kit that I’ve been working with all summer long.
The Details…
As I was looking through my kit, I tried to keep an open mind and found this TN sized notebook paper. However, there was only one and a half sheets of it – not quite enough to make it work for both pages.
That’s when I remembered the die in the Gorgeously Made dies that makes a border that looks like it’s been torn from a notebook and thought that would be perfect to make a border down the side of one of the pages. For the second page I thought I would keep it simple and fall back on the Oilers colours – blue and orange. So I just used a piece of Starry Sky cardstock.
For my title, I’ve got a package of Simple Stories Color Vibe alpha stickers, and although they say they are bright, the colours are a bit washed out. My solution was to colour the orange ones with my dark Pumpkin Pie blends. This brightened them up and made the colours match my layout beautifully.
The embellishing was kept pretty minimal with just some label stickers as tuck ins and some more of those cork stars (only one left to use!) and a couple random stickers. I’m really happy with the way it turned out.
We are nearing the end of the summer scrap your stash but I still have several layouts I’d like to accomplish before it ends. Thankfully I’m attending a local one day crop on Saturday so I’m hoping to get a few more layouts done.
