Welcome to the monthly APPT blog hop where we will showcase alternate projects using the April 2025 Inked Occasions Paper Pumpkin kit. Check out the fun fold I created using this kit and then hop along to all the other blogs for additional creative ideas.
For those of you not familiar with Paper Pumpkin kits, they are a subscription kit that gets delivered right to you. Inside are all the supplies you need and directions for assembling the projects for that month.
I love to scrapbook using the monthly kits. Shortly after my kit arrived, I shared this layout using the April kit, today I’ve got a fun fold gift card holder to share with you.
Let’s start with the fun fold…
I’m calling this a fold flat purse gift card holder. When it’s standing up, it looks like a purse but it folds flat to fit inside one of Stampin’ Up!’s® medium envelopes.
Here’s a look at the front. I cut apart one of the card bases from the Inked Occasions kit to use in place of pattern paper. In this video, I walk you through cutting your pieces and assembling the card.
Measurements:
- Gorgeous Grape: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 4″ , 5-1/2″ and 7″; 4-1/4″ x 5-3/4″ scored at 4″ on the long side; 4″ x 1-1/2″ embossed
- Card Base from the Inked Occasions Kit (or DSP): 4″ x 3-3/4″ (for the front); 4″ x 3-1/4″ (for the back) and two pieces that measure 4″ x 1-1/4″
- Basic White: 4″ x 3-3/4″
- Berry Burst: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
- Highland Heather: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
- Old Olive: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
- Peach Pie: 1″ x 2″
- Brushed Brass Butterflies: x2
- White Ribbon: about 10″
I used these thin magnets as my closure, however, you could also use velcro dots or strategically place your embellishments so that the flap tucks under them.
The back has a little pocket that fits a gift card, tag or business card.
On the inside I added a band to hold a tea bag. Folded this project will fit into an envelope but with the tea bag it will require additional postage here in Canada.
You can find a video walking you through the assembly of this fun fold card below. I also share a few other samples I created using the kit.
