Fresh Colour Inspiration #3

Have you been following along with the fresh colour inspiration I’ve been sharing over that last couple weeks? One of my favourite ways to get comfortable with new colours is to blend them into familiar palettes. Instead of using all five In Colors together, try choosing one new In Color and pairing it with two or three coordinating core colours. This approach keeps things cohesive, helps you stretch your supplies, and gives each new colour a chance to really shine.

Crisp Cantaloupe

Golden Glow

Today we are focusing on Peaceful Pine – my favourite new in color. This colour is an easy one to integrate into our current colour selection so I thought I’d go with an unexpected colour combo.

And again this week I pulled out the Scalloped Blooms dies! I just love these new dies.

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″
• Garden Green: 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ embossed with the Forever Plaid EF; 1/2″ x 3-3/4″
• Highland Heather: 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ die cut with the 2nd largest scalloped blooms die
• Basic Gray: 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ die cut with the 3rd largest scalloped blooms die
• Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ to stamp and die cut
• White Twine: about 18″
• Sequins: x3 (I used retired sequins from my stash)

The flowers and leaves come from the Happiness is Here stamp set, one of the sets that was included in the 2026 Virtual Album Retreat kit.

Instructions

1. Fold your card base in half and then fold the card front back along the other score line.
2. Add the embossed garden green card stock to that smaller front flap.
3. Add the gray scallop circle to the highland heather circle and add that to the card front. NOTE: you’ll only add adhesive to about 1/2 of the scallop circle because you just want to adhere it to that front flap.
4. Add the twine in a figure 8 to the card front.
5. Stamp the starburst border from the Happiness is Here stamp set using garden green ink onto the strip of garden green card stock. Add that to the card front using dimensionals.
6. Stamp 3 flowers using highland heather, then add the inside after stamping off so that it’s a lighter shade of purple. Repeat this step using the leaves and garden green.
7. Fussy cut the images and add them to the card front as shown.
8. Stamp ‘thank you’ using black ink and trim as needed. Add to card front.
9. Add desired embellishments.
10. Finish off by stamping a few flowers on the inside of the card.
