6 Cards from One 12×12 Sheet

Have you ever looked at a beautiful sheet of patterned paper and wished you could stretch it just a little further? This project is proof that one sheet can go a long way!

For this One Sheet Wonder project, I used one 12×12 sheet of patterned paper and six notecards and envelopes to create a set of beautifully coordinating cards. Add a few greetings, some coordinating ribbon or twine, and a handful of embellishments, and you have a complete set of handmade cards ready to use or give as a gift.

The best part? Once you make the cuts, the cards come together quickly and easily.

One Sheet + Six Cards

For this project, you’ll need:

• 1 sheet of 12×12 double sided patterned paper – a smaller pattern on one side and coordinating pattern on the back. It helps if the paper isn’t directional.
• 6 notecards and envelopes
• Greetings or sentiment pieces – I used the Sweetly Sentimental hot foil dies but any greetings will work
• Coordinating ribbon and/or twine
• Embellishments
• Adhesive
• Your basic paper crafting tools

You can use whatever patterned paper and embellishments you have in your stash, making this a great project for using up some of those coordinating supplies you’ve been saving.

I love projects like this because you don’t need a huge collection of supplies to make something that looks beautifully coordinated. The patterned paper does most of the work!

I’ve put together a video showing you exactly how to cut the 12×12 sheet of patterned paper so that you can create all six cards.

In the video, I’ll also walk you through putting the cards together and show you how I added the greetings, ribbon, twine and embellishments to finish each design.

Once you see how the patterned paper is cut, you can easily recreate the same layout with different papers and embellishments. You could even make several sets of cards using different sheets from your stash.

A Great Way to Make a Card Set

This would also make a fun handmade gift!

Create six coordinating cards, add envelopes, and package them together as a little card gift set. You could make a set for birthdays, thank-you cards, Christmas, friendship cards or even create an assortment of everyday greetings.

And because you’re starting with just one sheet of patterned paper, it’s a great way to make a set of cards without needing a lot of supplies – even the envelopes match!
