4 Fun Card Ideas

Today I’m sharing 4 fun card ideas that don’t take a lot of time but are stunning. I’ve used products from the Valley in Bloom suite from Stampin’ Up! but you can use these ideas with any products in your stash. Hint: look for some pretty pattern paper and a beautiful embossing folder that deserve to be the show stopper on your projects.

Embossed Birthday Card

This first card can easily be recreated using any colour card stock, your favourite embossing folder, ribbon scraps and some embellishments. Don’t have a die that can create the background behind your greeting? Use a circle punch or label shape.

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
• Granny Apple Green: 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ ;  2″ x 5-1/2″ (die cut 2 of the background pieces)
• Coastal Cabana: 5″ x 3-3/4″ embossed with Floral Spray EF
• Basic White: 5″ x 1″ – for greeting
• White Ribbon: 8″
• White Twine: 12″
• Dots: x3

So Grateful for You Card

The star of this card is really the pattern paper. Look through your stash to find something that has a beautiful background that can be highlighted. Then choose a label shape that fits your greeting, some coordinating ribbon and gems and voila. You’ve got a beautiful card!

Measurements:

• Granny Apple Green: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
• Pretty Peacock: 4″ x 5-1/4″; 4″ x 1/2″
• Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (for inside); 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ for die cutting
• Pattern Paper: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and 3-7/8″ x 3/4″ for inside
• Ribbon: 5″
• White Twine: 8″
• Gems: x2

Birthday Fun Fold Card

You won’t believe how simple this stunning card is! Recreate it using your favourite embossing folder and some pretty paper for a pop of colour. Don’t have the Everyday Arches dies? Replace it with any shape, you can even just cut a rectangle!

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″
• Garden Green: 2″ x 5-3/8″ (x2); 4″ x 1/4″
• Pattern Paper: 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ (x2)
• Basic White: 3-1/2″ x 5″ cut with the 3rd largest everyday arch and then embossed; scrap for greeting
• Ribbon: 6″
• White Twine: 8″
• Embellishments: x3

Double Vision Birthday Card

This double vision technique works with any pattern paper but is especially stunning with papers that have beautiful scenes or meadows of flowers.

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
• Pretty Peacock: 5-1/4″ x 4″
• Basic White: 5″ x 3-3/4″ and scrap for greeting
• Pattern Paper: 5″ x 3-3/4″
• Vellum: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ (3rd smallest scallop blooms circle)
• Ribbon: 5″
• White Twine: 8″
• Embellishments: x3
