3 Fun Butterfly Card Ideas - Stamped Treasures

In today’s post I’m sharing 3 fun butterfly card ideas using Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful butterflies bundle. In the first card we revisit an idea that’s been around for years, the second one has a fun butterfly shaped card front and the third features a fun technique.

For the first card we’ll be creating our own pattern paper using stamps, ink and blending brushes. This is a technique that can be used over and over using any ink colours and any stamps from your collection.

Start by adding some ink to a white piece of card stock. I used two colours – daffodil delight and calypso coral – but you can use any colours, and more than just two. Once you have all the white covered, choose your stamps and stamp them in the same colours that you ink blended onto your white card stock.

Punch out a window and then add that to the next layer of card stock and then to the card front. Embellish as desired.

Measurements:

Calypso Coral: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ ; 2″ x 2″
Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside); 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″; 3/4″ x 4″ and 1/2″ x 4″
Daffodil Delight: 4″ x 5-1/4″
Basic Black: 2″ x 2″
Twine: 6″

Butterfly Shaped Card Front Card

I love that in the beautiful butterflies dies, there is a die that allows you to cut a butterfly shaped card front. I walk you through how it works in this video (also linked below). It works perfectly with our note cards and envelopes but you can also use it on a standard 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card base as well.

Technique Card

The last card I’m sharing with you is a little more ‘artsy’ and I love it! I shared a technique where you ink up a block and then use it as a stamp. Then we did a bit of two toned stamping and added our butterflies.
