Do you go through phases where you do something a lot and then move on to something else? I’m in a coloring phase right now. And it isn’t just using one method, it’s coloring anything! My favorite is using our Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers), but I am also enjoying pencil crayons, water coloring and even coloring with Brusho! I just love that there are so many different options and each one gives just a little bit of a different look.
For today’s project I’m using the Beautiful Day stamp set from the Occasions catalogue. If you love to color, or if you love techniques, this is a great set! I love the big bold images.
To create this card I stamped the butterfly image with VersaMark ink onto a piece of vanilla cardstock. Then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. My coloring method of choice for this beauty was my Stampin’ Blends. I used a combination of light and dark daffodil, pumpkin pie and cherry cobbler. One thing I did find is that you can’t color over the embossed area without the alcohol marker removing the embossing. So when you use this combination you want to avoid coloring over the embossed image.
To dress up the card a little, I cut out a scallop border from real red cardstock using the border framelit that comes in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Then added a strip of tear tape and some gold glitter flakes. So pretty.
Hope you have a creative week!
