Are you looking for a creative escape? Well I may just have the answer
for you. I have planned a weekend creative escape out at Bittern Lake Lodge (Oct. 31, Nov. 1st and 2nd, 2014). If you haven’t been on a
weekend retreat – these are FABULOUS! So much fun to gather with other
crafters for some dedicated crafting time and to be inspired by others.
Here’s a little more information on the retreat…
The service provided by Sheldon and his Chef (Ramon) is amazing! The
cost is exceptional considering the quality of food and service at the
lodge. At the retreat you can expect uninterrupted (only meals and
times you decide) crafting/you time. You can craft from sun up to sun
down or well beyond – or craft very little or not at all. Naps and
pajamas are always endorsed:) This retreat allows you to focus on what
you want to do, when you want to do it. The retreat is open from 4pm on
Friday and closes at 4pm on Sunday.
While a guest at Bittern Lake Lodge, you will be treated to a homey
atmosphere that can accommodate up to 18 crafters in double and triple
(one queen (two people share the queen) and a single) rooms that feature
goose down duvet quilts and pillows (single rooms are not typically
available).
- Single guests are always welcome too. If you come as a single, you
may be matched up with another single guest but will not be asked to
share a queen bed with a stranger:) - If you come as a triple, your group will be placed in a triple room –
two guests will have to share a queen bed. Or you can bring a personal
cot.
The sleeping quarters are in a separate building from the main lodge and
are very quiet and relaxing. The sleeping house is always a quiet
zone.
The main building features several amenities such as a pool table, a
full sized guest fridge for guest items (simple snacks or special
beverages), ice machine, margarita machine, two fireplaces, large screen
tv and satellite and wireless internet. Outside, the beauty of Alberta
allows for walks in the country and many sitting areas outside. in the
crafting room, each crafter has their own 6′ table to work at with a
power bar at each pod of tables. For quilters, there is additional
space for your iron and other related items to work on your projects.
The lighting is excellent and there are many windows showing the
beautiful property that the lodge sits on.
The meals at the lodge are amazing! All meals are almost totally made
from scratch and as part of your fee, you will receive a light dinner on
the day of arrival, three full, delicious meals on the full days at the
lodge and breakfast and lunch on the day of departure. While you may
bring your own snacks, you will probably find that you will not need
them! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water are always available. You
are welcome to bring your own beverage selections as well, including
alcohol (if consumed responsibly).
All this, plus a few little extras from me – all for only $210!
Optional classes (for an additional fee) will be available to register
for and will be sent out in September to all registrants. These classes
will all be available for you to do at any time throughout the
weekend. By not having scheduled class times, this allows you to fit
them in when it works for you and doesn’t interrupt your crafting time!
One last thing you need to know – Bittern Lake Lodge is also a waterfowl
hunting lodge, so when it is not hunting season (September to
mid-October) Sheldon rents out his facility – this means there are
wildlife trophies of all types throughout the lodge. Please be aware of
this as you make your decision to join us.
Please note that a deposit of at least $105 is due upon registration to hold your place.
Balance is due 30 days prior to departure. Payment can be made by
cheque, money order or by email money transfer (sorry no PayPal option
for this event). Retreat is limited to 18 people. ***Only 4 spots left!*** Deposit holds your spot.
I hope that you are able to join us at this fabulous Creative Escape! I know that you will love it.
