Good morning! I hope you are having a great start to your weekend. For this weeks Scrapbook Saturday I have another layout from this months scrapbook club. This one uses lots of new products (I’ve listed them all below) but I wanted to point out the background cardstock. I used out Core’dinations cardstock – I LOVE this cardstock. You are probably wondering how it’s different from our regular cardstock. Well it’s textured for one, and secondly it isn’t the same color all the way through. Why would that matter? This allows you to sand it and get a two toned look. That’s how I achieved the distressed look around the edges.
Do you notice the subtle hexagon pattern in the lower left and upper right corners? I created that by placing my hexagon hive thinlit under my cardstock, with the raised side up and lightly sanded the cardstock. Because the cardstock has a lighter core, it makes the pattern stand out, where as on our regular cardstock you wouldn’t have been able to notice it. Cool eh?
The accents on this layout are clusters of flowers created by layering stamped and punched pansies and the petite petals punch from the Occasions Catalogue. These two punches work perfectly together!
I do still need to add a photo and a bit of journaling to the layout but that will come. I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Thanks for stopping by!
Have a creative weekend!
