In today’s post I’m sharing a textured notes thank you card. The goal for these cards was two fold – I had some hexagon frames sitting on my desk that I wanted to use up and I needed some thank you cards. My automatic go to set lately has been the textured notes stamp set so it seemed like a logical addition.
This card uses a combination of new and retiring products. If you haven’t yet checked the last chance list, you’ll want to check that out. There’s lots of great products that are only available while supplies last, and some are event discounted.
The retiring products on this card are as follows:
- Wild Wheat card stock & ink
- Wild Wheat Jute Trim (from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim pkg)
- Wildly Flowering DSP
I’ve got to admit that I was not a fan of wild wheat when it was first released. However, it has grown on me. I’ve ended up using it more than I ever thought I would. Will you miss it when it retires?
Want to recreate this card? Here’s what you need to know.
- Use the wicker circle image and wild wheat ink to stamp a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of wild wheat card stock to create your own pattern paper.
- Splatter the stamped piece using one of the deep brown blends.
- Distress the edges using paper snips.
- Die cut the third largest hexagon from a piece of wildly flowering dsp. Add the frame to the stamped wild wheat cardstock and trim the excess.
- Stamp the border stamp using espresso ink twice as shown.
- Add this to the wild wheat card front.
- Stamp the larger leaf image using old olive ink and the thank you with espresso. Fussy cut.
- Tie a bow from some wild wheat twine and adhere it to the card front.
- Add the leaf and greeting.
- Finish it off with a couple neutral matte dots.
If you like this card, be sure to check out the Textured Notes class to go where we’ll be creating 6 cards using this beautiful stamp set. There’s still time to register!
