Do you ever use your card making supplies to make home decor? I love it when I can put my products to more use. I’ve got a simple, seasonal home decor piece for you today.
I’ve started collecting things for a gallery wall that I’m working on for our dining room. I’d like it to include a combination of photo frames, seasonal pieces, sayings and other decorative things. I would also love to have a piece or two that can be switched out seasonally. Maybe one of those being a framed piece. There are so many options but I’m trying to stick to a budget and get creative with what I already have on hand, adding only a few new pieces.
The other day I came across a frame with some fall decor that would be a perfect addition to my collection. It also got me thinking about creating something for each ‘season’ or occasion.
The Details…
- I really wanted a more rustic feel so I pulled out some of the retired woodgrain dsp and cut it down to size. The woodgrain pattern from the Come to Gather DSP would have been perfect but I didn’t have a piece big enough.
- The letters were cut from pool party dip using the retired large letter alphabet
- The snowman was punched from glimmer paper and
- ‘let it’ was embossed on vellum using pool party ink and clear embossing powder.
It will be a simple addition to the wall but I don’t want any one thing to stand out so a subtle look is perfect. I’m excited to have another item added to my collection. My goal is to have it all up and together by our annual Boxing Day event. I’ll definitely share a photo when it’s done.
Have a creative day!
