In today’s post I’m sharing two simple fun fold cards that really show off your pattern paper. These fun folds are perfect for the beautiful pattern papers that you love and have a hard time cutting up. I’ve got two samples of each fold to share – one using the stunning One Horse Open Sleigh dsp and the other featuring the Meandering Meadows dsp.
For You Fun Fold Card
For this first fun fold, we’ll cut our pattern paper into panels so that when the card is fully open we see the whole scene.
Measurements:
- Thick White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 1-7/8″, 3″ , 5-1/2″ and 6-5/8″
- Pattern Paper: take a 6″ piece and cut down to 5-1/4″ high. Then cut it at 7/8″ , 1″ , 2-1/4″ and 1″ – in that particular order working from left to right. This will allow the pattern to be continue across the card. See video linked below for clarification.
- Vellum: 3rd smallest Stylish Shapes circle
- Basic White: 2nd smallest Stylish Shapes circle; 1-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ embossed with the Timber EF
- Ribbon: 5″
- Twine: 12″
- Dragonflies: x2
And then this is the card fully open. There’s a spot on the back to write a message.
Here’s another version of the same card. This one created using the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP.
And open.
Just like I shared in this post, I kept the greetings/embellishing to a minimum. I find that works best with this style of pattern paper. The imagery is just so beautiful you don’t want to take away from that.
Your Kindness Fun Fold Card
For this second card, we’ll create a panel for the front of our card but then when open it reveals more of that beautiful pattern paper.
Measurements:
- Night of Navy: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside) and label shape
- Pattern Paper: 6″ x6″ cut down to 5-1/4″ high then cut at 4″
- Ribbon: 5″
- Twine: 12″
- Birds: x2
Here’s the same card done with the One Horse Open Sleigh dsp.
And open…
