Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global July 2022 blog hop. This months theme is our favourite colour.
As part of the Scrapbooking Global design team we participate in a monthly blog hop and challenges but anyone can join in if they’d like. We’d love to have you join us! Be sure to join the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group so you know when the sign up starts for our next hop.
This was a tougher theme than I thought it would be because my favourite colour changes from season to season and my mood. I landed on a colour that I go back to again and again, no matter what the season or mood – Pool Party. Pool Party is such a great colour because it works with so many different colours but also at any time of the year.
The Details…
Before I share my layout, I thought I’d share a bit about creating the background. There are a few different layers of ink here. I did the packaging technique using Pool Party ink across the two pages, then I splattered using my water painter and some Bermuda Bay ink. And then added a few stamped leaves from the Perfect Pomegranate stamp set.
The border across the top was the leftover piece after cutting out a few strips of the scallops from this patterned paper from the Celebrate Everything dsp (a host reward product). I absolutely love this paper pattern and knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to cut out some of these scallops for a layout.
You can see in the photo below that I layered a few of these strips behind my photos. I love the whimsical feel of them. How the scallops aren’t perfect.
The flowers and the leaves are from the Perfect Pomegranate stamp set – a set that you can earn for free with a qualifying workshop during Sale-a-Bration (until August 31st, 2022). Look at the texture on those stamped images… love it!
And here’s a look at the completed layout.
Although this is a traveler’s notebook sized layout (about 4″ x 8″), this layout could easily be reproduced as a 12×12 layout using 4″x 6″ photos. This just happens to be the size that I’m working with for this years album.

I love Pool Party too!! And your background is spectacular. And I really didn’t think the pomegranate stamp set was my style, BUT you’ve shown it off so beautifully! And the scallops are gorgeous.

I didn’t think that set was my style either but I do love the flowers and leaves in it. And the texture that they have when you stamp them is beautiful.

Amazing creativity in your background elements! Love that you added watercolor effects. I agree with your sentiment on how challenging it is to pick a favorite color! Great job with your layout!
