Do you have a love for 6″x6″ paper pads like I do? I find them so much easier to cut into and use. Sometimes our 12″x12″ pages are so pretty you don’t want to cut into them for a small piece. But the 6×6, not a problem! Maybe it’s because you get 4 of each sheet in a package. It could be because it’s a smaller piece and it doesn’t feel like you are wasting as much. I’m not sure what it is but I’m loving our selection of pads in this size in the Occasions catalogue – especially the Going Places paper stack (#140581).
This simple design has been my go to for gift card holders lately. You can easily whip them up without having to even cut into a 6×6 piece. A couple score lines is all you need. Here are the instructions to make this little gem.
- Score a 6”x6” piece of
pattern paper at 7/8″ and 3-1/2″. Fold along the score lines. - Add a 1″x6″ strip
of lost lagoon cardstock to the back of the 7/8″ flap. -
Using a 1-3/8″ circle
punch, notch the wider flap. - Using Tombow adhesive, add a
narrow strip of adhesive up either side of the wider flap so that you can
create the pocket. - Add a 2-1/4”x5″ piece
of vanilla cardstock. This piece is for your message and you can adhere the
gift card using a mini glue dot if you’d like. - Wrap a 1″x8″ piece
of lost lagoon around the pocket and adhere the ends together. Note: you may
have to trip a little off the length. Make sure the belly band slides on and
off nicely. Don’t make it too tight. - Cut the 3rd smallest star
framelit from black cardstock and add to the belly band using a dimensional.
Note: I had the seam of my belly band in the front and then covered it with the
star.
Have a creative day!
