Today I’ve got a Painted Petals project share. These are the projects I created using the rest of the July 2024 Painted Petals Paper Pumpkin kit. When I get my kit I always create one of each of the projects that are intended and then I go live and create a scrapbook layout. If you missed that layout, you’ll find it here. But I also shared another one in this post.
After that I’ll usually spend a couple more hours creating with the leftover contents of the kit. That’s what I’ll be sharing with you today.
Hooray Scrapbook Layout
I love to scrapbook so let’s start with another scrapbook layout. This one is just a single 12×12 layout. I love how it turned out! Hooray and the leaves are both from the coordinating Every Celebration dies. The border across the top is just leftover scraps from the card fronts and envelopes that I cut apart. It was the perfect way to use up some of those scraps.
The panel with the Hooray on it is cut from an envelope. To give the image a bit more definition, I used a black marker and doodled around the edges.
The Cards
For this first card, I decided to use the floral stamp that was in the kit. It was stamped in memento ink and coloured using blends. A couple more of the scraps serve as kind of a place holder for the flower. Simple but nice to be able to put the stamp to use!
The next set of cards uses the panels. Just like on the layout, I took a black marker and traced around the edges of the flowers to give them a bit more definition. To tie in the doodled flowers, I also added a bit of doodling around the edges of the panel. I love the whimsical look of these cards.
The last card is a gatefold card. I cut apart the back panel from one of the cards into 2 pieces to add to either side of the gatefold. Then lightly traced around the edges of the floral focal point onto a piece of white card stock and cut it out. To give it a bit of colour, I added some pool party ink with my blending brush and then finished it off with a few iridescent pearls.
Gift Box
The box the kit came in was so pretty I had to decorate it. I love doing this with the patterned boxes we get! It doesn’t have to be fancy to feel special with a box this pretty. I simply cut a few layers of card stock, embossed the white layer with the cute crochet embossing folder and then added a stamped flower and greeting. Easy peasy and now I have some beautiful gift packaging!
