I had a My Digital Studio class a couple weeks ago and this was the hybrid project we created. I started with an 8-1/2″x11″ page and then created an 8″x8″ block of space to work within. To do that I just used the square punch and enlarged it to 8″x8″, filled it with my dsp and then created the rest of the page within that box. Once I was happy with it, I printed it out on very vanilla cardstock just from my home printer, we cut it down and then added it to a 12″x12″ piece of the Botanical Gazette dsp, added a few extra photo mats, some buttons and a little bit of a punched edge. I think it turned out quite nicely. Now just to find some photos to add to it so that I can count it towards my goal of 104 layouts in 2011! Here are some of the MDS stamp brushes that I used on the page:
- Lots of Tags – shape 1 (the shapes under the buttons) – 124439
- Botanical Gazette DSP (the honeycomb background of 8×8 square) – 122169
- Vintage Overlays stamp brush set (sponged edge look) – 121061
- Notes & Details (swirl & title)
- Upsy Daisy (in original software)
It’s really hard to imagine what I’m talking about so I thought I would include the saved jpg file here. Hopefully that helps you understand what I’m talking about. You could even save the photo onto your computer, print it and recreate the page yourself! I’d love for you to do that and see just how easily a hybrid project can come together and how fabulous it looks.
As you can see some of the stamp brushes and the overlays, extend beyond the 8×8 square but that doesn’t matter because you will cut it down once it’s printed. I’d love to hear what you think if you do print this off and create a page of your own!
Thanks for stopping by today!
