My kids had last Thursday and Friday off from school so we decided to make some cookies using our new Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps. With a bit of experimenting we ended up with these delicious cookies!
Because this was our first time using them, we decided to play it safe and use the Sugar Cookie recipe included with the cookie stamps. Plus because it wasn’t a recipe that we had to put in the fridge to set, we could work from start to finish. The first tray of cookies that went in the oven were too thin and they ended up getting a bit too brown for our liking. So we made the cookies on the 2nd tray much thicker and they turned out beautifully.
The kids started with a ball (about 2″ around) and then pushed the stamp, which had been dipped in flour, into the dough. We found they came off the dough nicely, which I was a little concerned about. Then we used a pumpkin and a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut around the shape, and removed the excess dough.
We had a great time, the kids really enjoyed playing with them. Next time we will experiment a little more by adding some colour, maybe icing or sprinkles and try a different recipe. It ended up being a fun afternoon! For only $20.95 for the set of three, including the handle and two recipes with tips, this is a fabulous gift idea!
Thanks for stopping by!
