Good morning! Am I glad to be home. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time at Convention but it’s always nice to come home and sleep in your own bed with all the noises that you are accustomed to:)
I’m going to try to get back on track with my MDS Monday. I participated in an MDS swap that my upline held earlier this month and this was the card that I made for it. I chose to make it hybrid (partly because it was done last minute). For those of you who may not know, hybrid is a combination of digital and regular crafting. So the background and the greeting were done using MDS2 but the flower was stamped and the button was made using our new clay molds.
I created the background by adjusting the size of the pennant punch and then flipping it over. Then all I did was copy that shape and position it so that there was a little border showing in between. It took a bit of manipulating but worked great. The colour is supposed to be Crushed Curry but my printer printed in more orange. To get the variety of shades, all I did was change the opacity for each layer.
To change the colouring of the letters in the “Celebrate (you deserve it)” greeting, I used the colouring tool. This allows you to change the colours on any of our stamped images, just as if you were using markers! Isn’t that awesome?
The accent was stamped in Bermuda Bay using our new Flower Shop stamp set, punched with the coordinating punch and then a clay flower that had been dipped in the Crushed Curry ink, added to the centre.
Using MDS sure makes swaps a lot faster. And I printed off a few extras of these so that I could just whip them up when I need a quick birthday card. So simple!
This week I will end each post with a photo or two of Convention. So today I leave you with a photo of the team members and I that attended. We really had a lot of fun!
From left to right we have Corey Smith, Jacquie Biller, Me, Donna Powell (AKA Mom), Christine Alward and Sue Weir.
Thanks for stopping by!
