Loveliest Wishes Card Kit Layout

Today I’m sharing a scrapbook layout I created using the loveliest wishes card kit from Stampin’ Up! I think I say it every time I crack open a card kit … I love using the contents of a card kit to scrapbook! The loveliest wishes kit is no exception.

This kit contains the supplies to create 9 cards – 3 each of 3 designs. They are simple, elegant cards with lots of white. Exactly what I like. Let’s take a look.

Using a card kit to create a scrapbook layout simplifies the process. It gives you a starting point and is often faster than starting from scratch because the embellishments are already done for you. Sometimes the card bases are patterned which means you can use them as pattern paper so that step is taken care of and everything already matches! However, it is also the perfect opportunity to dig into your stash for additional supplies. You may need to add some coordinating card stock and/or pattern paper. You may want to add embellishments, coordinating ribbon and possibly extra images. It all depends on what’s included in the kit.

This kit happened to include lots of white (no pattern paper) and was a no stamping kit (no stamped images). So I needed to add a few things. But here’s what I ended up with.

I wanted to create a 12×12 layout so needed to add some pattern paper and card stock. I chose a petal pink pattern from the Hobby Haven DSP pack, a piece of white and soft sea foam card stock and some vellum that I cut in a circle.

My process always involves digging into my stash. I found some acrylic butterflies that seemed to work well, a gold die cut leaf leftover from a past kit and some petal pink ribbon from my scrap jar. But otherwise most everything else was in the kit.

After seeing the finished layout, I think this would make a fabulous Easter layout. The colours are very springy.
