Brighten Your Day Kit Alternative

Today I’m sharing an alternative project I created using the Brighten Your Day card kit – a 2-page scrapbook layout. I can’t believe I missed this kit when it was first released. I think it’s one of my all time favourites. The cards are absolutely stunning and the envelopes aren’t far behind!

The Brighten Your Day card kit includes the supplies to create 9 cards (3 each of 3 designs). Let’s take a look at them first.

This is a no stamping kit, which makes it a great price point. The cards are simple but beautiful. The laser cut pieces are so detailed they really are the star of the show. But let’s not overlook the envelopes – WOW!

The colours are soft and elegant: Balmy Blue; Basic Beige; Fresh Freesia; Highland Heather; Lost Lagoon and Pecan Pie.

After creating one of each of the cards I knew that I needed to create a scrapbook layout.

The Details…

The base of the layouts is 12×12 two-tone basic beige card stock. I cut two of the card bases (the blue & beige) down to 4″ x 5-1/2″ and used those on the layout. Filling in the gaps with 4″ x 4″ card stock in lost lagoon and basic beige. These are meant for photos.

I just loved the envelopes so much I had to find a way to incorporate at least one of them. So I fussy cut the fern patterns from the basic beige envelope. These were add to the lower left and upper right corners of the layouts. They are subtle but a great addition.

To dress up this simple layout, I used the circle die from the Loving Arrangements die to create a scallop border on both pages.

The title is a combination of the Alphabet a la Mode dies and stamps from the Capturing Smiles stamp set (to be released in March 2026).
