So the first thing I did was pull out the things that I would need to use from the Paper Pumpkin kit to create my alternate project (which I share later in this post). Then looked at what I had left. I still had 10 love notes left of the 16 that were in the kit!! I checked my calendar to see what events I had coming up and I realized I needed 10 little treats for some of my team for an event on Saturday. Perfect!
Then I looked on my desk to see what I had leftover from previous projects. I had several of these hearts cut from the Painted with Love dsp and some solid melon mambo hearts. So I decided to combine those with the vellum hearts in the kit and stitch the three together. I love how it turned out. The only other thing I added was the stitched shape oval cut from white cardstock. Everything else was in the kit.
I didn’t want to make it into a card so I decided to tuck in a couple chocolate treats (these are the Merci chocolates). The beautiful ribbon that came in the kit does a good job of holding everything together even with the bulk of the chocolate. So happy with how they turned out and that I was able to use up pretty much the whole kit between these 10 treat holders and my next project.
This next project is what I’m super excited to share! It’s a cute mini album that I made for my husband for Valentine’s Day.
This first photo is a photo of it closed. I used a couple hearts from the Heart Happiness stamp set and a bit of the black thread to decorate the front.
Then when you open it up, you can attach the front to the back and you end up with this adorable star-like album! It looks so awesome in person!! To give you a better idea of what it looks like I took photos of each of the pages.
This is the first page when you open up the cover. I used a few different things to create the album, I’ll have a full supply list below. In addition to the stamp set that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit, I also used the host set Yay You, from the Occasions catalogue.
The second page includes a family photo and a little stamped saying about family that tucks into the pocket.
The next page include a photo of our kids with a saying from the Yay You stamp set – You are my kind of fantastic.
Then there’s a page dedicated to my daughter and her and her dad.
And one of my son and a photo of him and my husband. Throughout the album I also used some of the Painted Love gold vinyl stickers. They just work so perfectly with this kit!
And then the final page includes “What I love about you…” . The kids and I each wrote out what we love about him and the cards get tucked into the back pocket.
I am so excited about this project! I can’t wait to give it to him. If you’d like a closer look or would like to know how it all was put together, I’ve filmed a video for you.
