Welcome to the Ink & Share January 2023 scrapbook blog hop. I’m excited to join in on this blog hop and can’t wait to see what everyone creates.
This we were tasked with creating with new product – anything from the Jan. to April mini or Sale-a-Bration brochure. This is an easy task because there’s so many GREAT new products to scrapbook with. I decided to share a layout I created for my friend Laura Milligan to celebrate the release of her million dollar stamp set – Queen Bee.
Laura presented her stamp set at our On Stage event in Vienna in November. I wasn’t able to go to Vienna but grabbed a few photos she shared on Facebook and created this fun layout of her with Shelli and Sara.
The Details…
Laura loves the ‘chippy’ look so I wanted to go for a similar look so it would suite her style and fit in with her studio decor. So I started with the packaging technique and a bit of Petal Pink ink. If you aren’t familiar with this technique, I’ve got a video showing you how to do it here. Then I stamped the background with the distressed words in the stamp set.
The colours I chose came right from the Regency Park dsp. This is such a fun dsp! You can see that the squares are scored. I did this because I wanted to add more dimension to the layout than just plain squares. So I scored them diagonally in both directions and then folded along the score lines. To keep that dimension, I attached them to the layout using a dimensional in the centre of the square.
Then it was just a matter of embellishing the layout. With the variety of stamps and then the coordinating and complimentary dies that was easy!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Head on over to Jo Blackman’s blog to see what she created with new product.
Until next time,
