In today’s post I’m sharing the fully flowering ephemera tags that I designed as make & takes at last weekends Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival. I really wanted to highlight the fabulous new ephemera packs from the annual catalogue. The flower and label packs seemed like a great combination.
The first thing I did was divide them up into piles that coordinated. I ended up with 7 piles. Because some of the elements are quite large I chose to create a large tag. These measure 4″ x 5-3/4″ and are created from chipboard.
I painted them with some white acrylic paint and then stamped the wood grain stamp from the Textured Timber in gray granite over top.
To highlight the label shapes and make them stand out on the background, I used the brush tip of a basic black Stampin’ Blend and did a thin border around the edges.
Then it was just a matter of positioning everything on the tag so that it looked pretty. I designed most of them so that there were no greetings because I thought they would make great accents on a scrapbook layout or on a gift bag. I also think that they’d be great put together as a mini tag book.
You can see that some of them are landscape and some portrait, it just depended on the elements and how the fit on the tag.
The ephemera pieces made these so amazingly easy, and fun, to create.
Until next time,
