Friends for Life Card Ideas

Today I’m sharing three fun Friends for Life card ideas with you. I recently participated in an event organized by several local demonstrators where we each created a full table of projects featuring a different suite of products. My suite was the Full of Life suite. So I have LOTS of samples to share with you over the next week or so.

Let’s take a look at the cards…

This first card is a slimline card. I used the gorgeous heart die with a leaf pattern on it as a stencil to create the three hearts. Used the packaging technique to create the background. This is probably one of my favourite techniques. It always makes me feel artsy when I do this technique. If you aren’t familiar with it, check out the video linked below where I walk you through how to do it.

Measurements:

• Balmy Blue: 7″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 3-1/2″ ; 3″ x 3-1/2″
• Shaded Spruce: 3-1/8″ x 8-1/8″
• Basic White: 3″ x 8″ ; 3-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ (inside); 2-3/4″ x 6″ and scraps
• Full of Life DSP: 1/2″ x 3″ and 1-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
• Ribbon: 4″
• Twine: 8″
• Iridescent Faceted Gems: x2

The second card uses some of the leftover ink from the packaging technique on the first card and the thin hearts that are leftover. To give the hearts a bit of added dimension, I layered 4 of them. It gives it some height and makes it feel more substantial yet still keeps the delicate feel.

I wasn’t sure about the balmy blue and shaded spruce colour combination at first but it has grown on me. It will definitely be one I turn to again in the future.

Measurements:

• Balmy Blue: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
• Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside); 3-3/4″ x 5″; 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ (x2) and leftover thin hearts from 1st project; scrap for stamping
• Shaded Spruce: 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ and 2″ x 3-1/2″
• White Twine: 8″
• Gems: x3

Thank you friend card

For the third card I stepped away from that colour combo and background technique and really highlighted the fabulous Full of Life pattern paper. There are so many great patterns in this paper pack. If you love bright colours, you’ll love this paper pack!

• Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
• Full of Life DSP: 3-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ cut into 1-1/2″ strips
• Basic Black: 3/4″ x 4″
• Melon Mambo: 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
• Ribbon: 5″
• Twine: 8″
