In today’s post I’m sharing this Citrus Blooms birthday wishes card. The card doesn’t use the stamp set but it does use the fabulous dies and was created mostly from leftover pieces on my desk.
I had several leaves leftover after planning this months class to go and thought I’d put them to use.
Putting it together…
- The large label shape die in the Citrus Blooms die set is so fabulous so I started by die cutting that from a piece of lemon lolly card stock.
- I used the negative space left from a die cut leaf as a stencil and added a few leaves to the label shape using daffodil delight ink and a blending brush.
- Then splattered that same piece with a basic black stampin’ blend. This gives such a fine splatter, I love it!
- The ‘birthday wishes’ greeting is from the Simply Said stamp set and was stamped using memento onto a die cut white circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.
- Then the leaves, cut from garden green and old olive card stock, were added.
- The ribbon is a leftover piece after pulling the fibers apart. I twisted in a figure 8 shape under the circle and then added it to the card front using dimensionals.
- To finish the card off I added a few of the flowers cut from the dsp, some of the tiny die cut daffodil delight flowers and some opal rounds.
I love the layout of the card but I’m not sold on the colours so I may attempt to recreate this card in a different colour combination to see how I like it. Maybe something completely unexpected. We’ll see:)
