Good morning! I’ve got a layout to share with you today. Still working towards my goal of 104 pages in 2011 and finishing off my Caribbean cruise album. These photos were taken when we went snorkeling. I kept the layout really simple. The colors are peach parfait, not quite navy and bashful blue.
One of the things we talked about at scrapbook club this month is titles and how it’s so easy to get in a rut of just titling your page with what you are doing or the place. My first thought for the title on this layout was snorkeling. But on my scrapbook quest this year, I really want to challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone. So while I was looking through a scrapbook magazine, I happen to come across a great quote and chose to use one of the words from the quote as my title – thus the Explore.
Another thing that I’m making sure I do is my journaling. I often put that off but find that it just doesn’t get done. So I am forcing myself to make sure the journaling is complete on every page prior to adding it to the album. On this page, I chose to create a pocket from one of the photos and then just tucked a tag (cut with the two tags die) with my journaling into the pocket.
I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, whether it’s a new technique, digital scrapbooking or just changing the way you do something. I’d love to hear about it!
Thanks for stopping by!
Sherry
