Last week I started working with the Everyday You & Me scrapbooking workshop kit. I knew I would LOVE this kit and I was not disappointed. The colours are perfect for so many different occasions. Today I’m sharing one of the layouts from the kit and how I made some slight alterations to make it suite my style.
But before we get into the layout, let’s take a look at the contents of the kit.
The Everyday You & Me scrapbooking workshop kit includes the following:
- Step-by-step instructions for creating three 2-page scrapbook layouts
- 10 sheets of Designer Series Paper
- 6 sheets of Two-Tone Cardstock
- 1 sticker sheets
- 2 sheets of pre cut images
- 1 sheet of chipboard pieces
- Photo placeholders
So far I’ve created my version of the 3 two page spreads and two 6×12 pages. Two of them are travel layouts and then the one I’m sharing today doesn’t have photos yet.
Let’s take a look at the layout…
This first photo is how the layout is designed for the kit and the second photo is of my finished layout.
The first, and biggest, change was in the placement and use of the embellishments. I wanted to tie the two pages together a bit more by spreading out the die cut flowers. But I also rearranged, added, and omitted some of the pieces that were used.
To give the layout a bit more dimension, I used my bone folder to curl up the petals on the flowers. I love how this makes the flowers feel like they are growing off the page.
In the kit, there is a fabulous watercolour wash patterned paper that I LOVE. So I chose to keep those two sheets whole so that I could create a bonus layout with them. If you look closely you can see that the layer of lost lagoon dsp on the left page has been omitted so that I could keep those two sheets whole.
The Everyday You & Me kit is the one we are using for this months kill a kit club. So I’m working on finishing up those projects for club later this week. If you are local to the Edmonton & surrounding areas and would like to join us, you can find all the details here.
Until next time,
