I am not a flowery person. I rarely buy floral papers and only own a few stamps with flowers. That’s just not me. So when we received the English Garden DSP as a gift in Hawaii, although grateful – to receive anything for free is wonderful – I set it aside. When I got home I opened the package and there are 2 of the floral prints that are nice but the back of the paper I LOVE!!! It is just neutral patterns in a great color scheme. They make for perfect patterns for more masculine layouts!
Ironically enough, English Garden was the paper pack that I first pulled out when I created this layout of my boys.
This is a great layout to use up all those strips of paper you always end up with. Lots of small strips create the backdrop to the photo. A few punched pieces – the chevron border and the half circles. Then I added a bit of faux stitching. I really need to find a home for my sewing machine so that I can do some real stitching on my layouts. But until then faux stitching it will be.
Up for a little challenge? This weekend, I challenge you to pull out a paper pack that you haven’t used in a while and create something with it! It doesn’t have to be a full layout – just anything you have time for. Just get crafty for a few minutes this weekend – it’ll do you good.
