Today I’m kicking off the first Sale-a-Bration (SAB) product focused post with some Driving By inspiration. Each Friday for the next week I’ll be sharing projects created with a different SAB offering.
The Driving By stamp set is a SAB offering that you can select with a qualifying purchase of $60 or more until February 28th, 2022.
I’ve got 3 cards to share with you today. Two of which were done in todays Facebook live. You can catch the replay towards the end of this post.
For the first project, I stamped the car image using crumb cake on crumb cake for a bit of detail in the background. Then stamped the same image on white and coloured it in. My initial intention was to just pop it up on one of the stamped background images but it didn’t feel like it had enough weight to it. Instead I chose to create a bit of a cluster. This really makes the focal point pop.
Measurements:
- Crumb Cake: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ and 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Vellum: 2-1/4″ circle
- Pattern Party DSP: 1/2″ x 3-1/2″
- Basic Black: 1/4″ x 3-3/4″
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ for inside and scrap for stamping
For the second card, I wanted to create a sky in the background so I pulled out the cloud border from the basic borders dies. This die makes it easy to create a great looking background. To give the sky a bit more interest I die cut a couple of clouds from the brilliant rainbow dies. To give the card a bit more texture, I replaced the stamped balloon strings with some white twine.
Measurements:
- Poppy Parade: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic Black: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
- Basic White: 3-3/4″ x 5″; 4″ x 5-1/4″ for inside; 1/2″ 3-3/4″ and scrap for stamping & die cutting
The final card that I have to share with you today is a shaker card and a bit more elaborate than the other two. I used the same background idea inside the circle for a subtle cloud pattern. The van was screaming to be paper pieced so I chose a floral pattern from the pattern party paper pack. It needed a little something to the left and my Palm dies had just arrived. I thought a palm tree would be the perfect addition.
I’ve included a supply list below, if there are any supplies you’d like to order, I’d love for you to choose me as your demonstrator.
Here’s a link to the video for the first two cards.
Have a creative weekend!
