I absolutely LOVE doing these combined traditional/pocket page layouts! I just can’t seem to get enough. As a scrapbooker, it’s the perfect balance between scrapbooking and Project Life. As a bonus, it gets more photos into my album and stories documented for us to enjoy.
These photos are from my husbands uncles wedding back in 2001! The heart is the negative space that was left from the heart that I used on this layout. I love to be able to use everything. I consider myself a frugal scrapbooker and try to use what I have and get the most out of it. To add the texture around the outside of the heart, I used the more concentrated ‘splotch’ (for lack of a better word) from the Touches of Texture stamp set. The white piece is trimmed down to 11-3/4″ square and then mounted on a black sheet of 12×12 cardstock so that the black shows through the heart window.
Take a look at the details on this flower! I used the new Flourish Thinlits – Oh my word they are gorgeous! I think these thinlits are going to be a huge hit – they are so pretty.
To tie in the pocket page, I added some burgundy to the date card that I used (from the retired Love Story collection) by stamping the September in burgundy and adding a burgundy die cut heart to the date. If you look at the first photo, you can see that I also added a flower from the flourish thinlits to the top corner of the photo of my husband and daughter. This ties the two pages together nicely.
I hope that the layouts I’ve been sharing have inspired you to give pocket pages a try. They truly are a life saver and will help you get through a large pile of photos! I can’t say enough about Project Life (pocket pages) and how this concept is helping me get things done.
I will be starting a Project Life club in September that will help you switch to Project Life or at least incorporate it into your memory keeping process. If you are interested in receiving more information on this, let me know. It will be open to anyone across Canada! Watch for more details throughout the summer.
Have a creative day!
Sherry
