I’ve got some cute awesome otters card ideas to share with you today. These little otters are so adorable! I have to admit, as cute as this set is, I inked this up for the first time just this past week as I planned these cards.
This first sample gives you an idea on how to use it so that you don’t always have to colour in the images. You can’t tell from the photo but I did add some clear Wink of Stella to the water splashes and ripples. It gives the card just a bit of sparkle.
Measurements:
- Coastal Cabana: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ and 4″ x 5-1/4″ embossed with the Painted Textures folder
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside); 2-3/8″ x 5-1/8″; 2nd smallest layering circle and scrap for stamping
- Basic Black: 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″
- Vellum: 3rd smallest layering circle
- White Twine: 8″
- Polished Dots: x3
This second card was inspired by my current love of tearing paper lol. I love how much texture torn paper gives a project and it’s so easy to do. The white core that shows when you tear your paper makes it looks like the white caps of waves. It just seemed like a natural fit.
The otters in the card above were coloured in using a water painter and ink pads. I decided to recreate this card using Stampin’ Blends to colour in the otters. It gives the card a very different look.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
- Simply Marbleous DSP: 5-1/4″ x 6″ (see video for how to tear)
- Basic White, Shimmery White or Watercolour Paper: choose based on how you are colouring in your image – scraps for stamping
- White Twine: 8″
- Polished Dots: x3
Here’s the video if you’d like to see how the cards come together.
