A Step Closer to Finishing

I’m a step closer to finishing my 2024 family album thanks to 2 more completed layouts. This month I’m working through my unfinished projects for my Finish-It Challenge. Some of the projects are larger ones that will take time so I decided to share the process of working through one of the larger projects.

I shared in my last blog post the process I use. Making a list and then putting together kits so that when I have time I can grab a bin and get to work.

2-Page Layout

My 2024 album is 6×8 but it has a variety of page sizes in it. This first sample is of a 6×8 and 4″ x 8″ 2-page spread. I LOVE mixing sizes in my albums. There’s such a sense of accomplishments when you end up creating an entire project using scraps!

The ephemera, the label, sticky note and the pattern paper all came from my embellishment drawer and scrap bin. The card stock was scraps. Only the twine and embellishments were from the initial package.

6×8 Single Page Layout

For the second layout, I did end up cutting into a couple full sheets of dsp because I rarely use the colour purple so don’t have any in my scrap bin.

I love it when I can fussy cut images from some pattern paper to use as embellishments on a layout!

Putting together kits and tucking them into the page protectors for when you have time to assemble is a huge time saver! And it breaks down the task into smaller pieces so that you can do them when you only have small bits of time. Give it a try and see what you think! Let me know what you think in the comments.
