In today’s post I’m sharing several Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin alternatives. From one box, I created all of the samples below, the projects in this post and another layout that I’ll share in Mondays blog post.
Best Wishes Cards
For the first and second card, I used one of the leftover card fronts from my previous Paper Pumpkin post. I trimmed it down to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then cut it diagonally and used one half on each of the cards. I repeated the process with an embossed piece of fresh freesia card stock. Those two pieces got added to a night of navy card front and then embellished.
The tag is from the kit but was stamped using a greeting from the Layering Leaves stamp set. I always say don’t throw anything away until you’re finished crafting. The little strip of dsp came from the narrow strip I cut off the card front. Then I used the beautiful purple vellum and cut a leaf from it using the Love of Spring dies and finished it off with a bit of twine and the sequins that came in the kit.
This second card is pretty much the same except I used one of the wood leaves that came in the kit and die cut the leaf from granny apple green instead of the purple vellum.
With Sympathy Card
For the third card I’m sharing, I kept things really simple. The card front was trimmed down to 3-3/4″ x 5″, matted on a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of fresh freesia and then placed onto a night of navy card base. To embellish it I simply used the wood tree from the kit, a bit of twine, some sequins and a greeting that was sitting on my desk. The greeting was cut using the Thoughtful Moments hybrid bundle and some holographic foil.
Cards 4 & 5
The next two cards were created from one of the card bases. Because the pattern was on the front and back of the card, I could cut it down and use it to create two cards. I kept the same basic layout for both of them.
Both greetings were stamped in night of navy ink. The Mother’s Day greeting is from a retired SAB set called Heartfelt Hellos. It was too big for the label shape so I just inked the word Mother with a night of navy stampin’ write marker and stamped it in the centre of the tag. Then inked up the other two works and trimmed them out and added them to the card front.
I love the vellum leaf. It’s a subtle way to add a bit of interest without making it look too busy. I’m sad to see that vellum will be retiring with this catalogue!
Just Because Card
This card was created using another leftover card base from when I created this layout . I added a piece of vellum behind the opening, then cut apart one of the envelopes to use the patterned inside to back the vellum. This serves two purposes – it gives a soft muted background and covers up the adhesive that you can see through the vellum when you open the card.
The flowers were stamped using the bonus stamp set we received in this months kit. It was actually leftover from the same video. Just because was also a scrap on my desk. The purple piece is a piece of the vellum that I cut in half lengthwise to stretch it a little further. I love how this card turned out!
Mother’s Day Cards
I turned the last two cards into Mother’s Day cards because I will need to restock the store that carries my cards and this kit seemed like a great one to use to create cards for that occasion. The flowers on this card were stamped using the set that came in this months kit and coloured in using Stampin’ Blends.
It might be a bit of a stretch to call this a Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin alternative because I really only used the bonus stamp set from the kit to create this card. But I really like how it turned out so wanted to share the idea with you.
When all was said and done I ended up with 15 Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin alternatives from one kit – 11 cards and 2 scrapbook layouts. I still had one card base, two pieces of the grape vellum and one wood tree left at the end of my session but I was tired of working with this kit. So these pieces were added to my scrap bin.
Until next time,
Shopping List
In addition to these supplies, I also used the contents of the March 2024 Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin kit which is no longer available to purchase. However, at the time of writing this post, the refill kit is available. This includes all the consumable supplies (no stamps or ink spot). Product number is 164392.
I also used a retired stamp set for the Mother’s Day greeting called Heartfelt Hellos.
