Majestic Fun Fold Card

It’s fun fold Friday and I’ve chosen to share this fun majestic fun fold card with you today. This is a simple fun fold but a definite wow. In this post, you’ll provide photos of 4 different versions, measurements, a supply list and a link to a video that shows you how to create one of the cards.

Something you may want to consider is who you give this card to lol. I handed one of the samples to my husband and asked hime to open in and he basically just held one side and kind of shook it until it opened a bit.  So it may be best suited to another card maker:)

This card was my inspiration for today’s post. It was a card I received from my friend Kathy Lovell many months ago. I’ve been saving it knowing that I wanted to give this fun fold a try. The majestic fun fold, I believe, was first shared by Susan Campfield.

Majestic Gate Fold Card – Portrait Version

Using Kathy’s card as inspiration I came up with this version using the fun Crafting with You bundle. I was happy to see that both the stamp set and dies are carrying over to the next catalogue, however, not at bundle pricing.

Measurements:

• Night of Navy: 5-1/2″ x 8″ scored at 1-7/8″ , 3-3/4″ , 4-1/4″ and 6-1/8″ from one of the short sides
• Delightfully Eclectic Pattern Paper: 1-5/8″ x 5-1/4″ (x2) in pattern one and two more in a second pattern
• Basic White: 1-5/8″ x 5-1/4″ (x2); 3″ x 3″ to die cut the 2nd largest Stylish Shapes circle and 2″ x 3″ for die cutting the paper trimmer
• Crushed Curry: 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ to die cut the largest Stylish Shapes circle
• Pebbled Path: 2″ x 3″ for die cutting the paper trimmer
• Vellum: 2″ x 3″ for die cutting the paper trimmer
• Gray Granite: 1″ x 1″ for die cutting the scoring blade on the paper trimmer
• Basic Black: 2″ x 2″ for die cutting the snips
• Holographic Foil: 2″ x 2″ for die cutting the snips
• Ombre Matte Decorative Dots: x3

Majestic Gate Fold – Landscape Version

After making the portrait version, I thought I’d figure out the dimensions for making a landscape version. I still used the Crafting with You bundle to embellish it but changed up the pattern paper. For this one I used the Lighter than Air DSP.

Measurements:

• Pool Party: 4-1/4″ x 10-1/2″ scored at 2-1/2″ , 5″ , 5-1/2″ and 8″ from one of the short sides
• Lighter than Air pattern paper: 2-1/4″ x 4″ (2 each of 2 patterns)
• Basic White: 2-1/4″ x 4″ (x2); 3″ x 3″ for die cutting the 2nd largest Stylish Shapes circle
• Crumb Cake: 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ for die cutting the embroidery hoop and 3 of the spools
• Baker’s Twine: enough to cover the spools
• Rainbow Dots: x3

A sneak peek at some new product…

For this last sample, I’m sharing a little peek at some product that will be released with the new annual catalogue in May. It’s called the Spotlight on Nature bundle.

Instead of using pattern paper on the outside I embossed my panels using the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder.

You may have noticed that I switched up the white & pattern paper strips. This allows for a little more space to write a message but also provides a bit of contrast with the circle. The pattern paper on this one is a new paper called Thoughtful Journey (available May 1st).
