Today I’m sharing 6 simple cards from one 12×12 including a simple fun fold! I’ll be using a sheet of Perennial Lavender pattern paper but any double sided pattern paper will work for these cards.
Before I start working on a one sheet wonder like this I determine what cards I need. At the moment I need cards to send to my team and a few birthday cards. So I went with congratulations and happy birthday for the greetings. However, these cards could be used for so many occasions.
You can follow along as I make these cards in the video below.
Here’s what you’ll need to complete the 6 cards:
- 1 sheet of 12 x 12 double sided pattern paper
- 3 thick basic white thick card bases
- 2 notecard sized card bases (3-1/2″ x 5″)
- a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of coordinating card stock
- two pieces of 3″ x 4-1/2″ white card stock embossed (I used the softly sophisticated folder but any will do)
- a sheet of white card stock for die cutting & stamping
- embellishments and twine to match
Congratulations Card 1 & 2
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
- Pattern Paper: 4″ x 5-1/4″ cut out the middle of the dsp with postage die (save this to use on the notecard)
- Basic White: 2″ x 3″ cut 3rd smallest postage rectangle and scrap for stamping greeting
- Butterfly
- Gems: x3
For the note card I used the die cut shape leftover from the first card and added in a 3″ x 4-1/2″ piece of embossed white card stock.
Card 2 and 3
I used the same idea and measurements for these next two cards, that I did for cards 1 and 2. The only difference is that I die cut the pattern paper closer to the bottom, rather than in the middle. I also used a larger greeting for one of the cards.
Card 5
For the 5th card, the layout is the same as card 3 but instead of using a die to cut the window, I used a punch. Then used that same punch to punch out a greeting and shrink it down a bit (see video for how to do that). My intent was to show you that this idea could be used with a punch if you didn’t have a die to use.
Birthday Fun Fold Card
The 6th card is a fun fold card. It’s a great design if you want to show off both sides of your pattern paper.
This first photo is what it looks like with the belly band removed.
Measurements:
- Gorgeous Grape: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and 4th smallest rectangle from the perennial postage dies
- Basic White: 3-3/4″ x 5″ (inside); 4″ x 5-1/4″ for die cutting the 2 square postage dies and the 3rd smallest rectangle
- Pattern Paper: 5-1/4″ x 12″ score at 4″ and 8″ ; 3/4″ x 9-1/2″ for belly band
- Butterflies: x2
- Purple Gems: x3
- Twine: 12″
And this one shows it with one flap open.
And both flaps open. I love this crumb cake plaid pattern! So perfect for the inside of a card:)
