In today’s post I’m sharing 4 ways to use alphabet dies. I will be using the Mini Alphabet dies from Stampin’ Up! However, all but one of these ideas can be used with any alphabet dies.
The mini alphabet dies are a bit different because they are actually only 3 dies. So the alphabet on the left, in the photo below, is one die. This can provide a few limitations but can also provide some opportunities that you may not have with dies that are individual letters.
Before we get into the samples, there are two products I highly recommend using with alphabet dies. The first is adhesive sheets. These will turn your letters into stickers so that you don’t have to mess with glue. And secondly foam adhesive sheets. These will add dimension to your letters – almost like Thickers.
You can see how these are used in the video below, where I share more details on all the cards in this post and a few others. Note this was my first attempt at a Youtube live. There were some issues lol. But the first one is done and I think the content is good. It can only get better from here.
Holy Cow Card
Alphabet dies come in handy if you can’t find the right sentiment for a card or want to put a bit more emphasis on a sentiment. The Cutest Cows stamp set, has a greeting that says ‘Holy Cow’ but I wanted the word ‘Cow’ to stand out a bit more. So I inked up just the word ‘Holy’ and stamped it onto the card and then die cut the letters to create the word ‘Cow’. It gives the card a whole different look than a simple stamped greeting would.

Absolutely loved the cow card! One question though. How did you make the “cow spots” on the background? Thank you so much! Have a great day! can you email me the answer at crosbylisa@hotmail.com please

Thanks so much! To create the spots, I used a pencil to lightly draw the spots and then coloured in using black Stampin’ Blends.
