I love pocket pages but I love traditional memory keeping even more. But there are so many ways that you can combine the two types of memory keeping. On today’s layout I’ve used four 4×6 cards from a retired Project Life by Stampin’ Up! card collection to create my background and I love how it turned out. I could have easily just cut 4×6 pieces of patterned paper but using the cards was just so easy! Plus let’s face, if you do any pocket page memory keeping, you’ve got a ton of cards laying around to be used.
This photo is of part of Eathan’s film studies group and their movie poster. I had another photo to include but didn’t like how it looked anywhere else on the page so I popped the main photo up on dimensionals and created a little pocket behind it.
I cut the photo into the shape of a tag and slid it in behind the main photo. I used a starburst punch shape in Emerald Envy and tucked it behind the main photo along with the ticket for the event. The title was done using some alphabet stickers leftover from a retired kit.
Here’s a little tip for ensuring your title is straight. I line up the bottom of the letters on a clear ruler. I knew I wanted them to be the same width as the cards (6″) so I started with the outside letters and worked my way in.
When they are positioned where you want them, simply apply pressure to the top of the letters so they stick to the layout.
I’ve set a goal to complete 15 memory keeping projects/layouts this month. As of today, the 7th, I’ve completed one! I’m a little behind. Better get cracking on that.
Hope you have a creative week!
