It’s easy to get in a rut and start creating layouts that all look the same if you are always using the same size photos. Try using a variety of photo sizes to change things up.
The most common size is 4×6. It’s easy and inexpensive to print. But did you know that you can print two 3×4 photos on one 4×6 print? Then you get 2 photos for the price of one. There are several ways that you can do this:
- Pic Stitch App on your phone – this gives you a white border around the edges of your photo
- Project Life App – this is perfect if you want a true 3×4 print
- Photoshop
- Some kiosks have a collage option that allows you to add two photos to a 4×6.
- Pic Monkey is another one
I’m sure there are MANY other ways as well. These are just a few to get your started.
Sometimes it’s fun to print larger sizes like 5×7, 6×8, 8×10 or even 12×12. Experiment with a variety of sizes to get your creative juices flowing.
Todays Inspiration
Every year we get our kids school photo in 8×10. I have a frame for each of them that I change out every year. When I change it out, the old photo goes into their school album and gets scrapbooked. I must admit that 8×10 is a tough size to scrapbook without having every page look the same. But it is fun to work on a different sized photo now and again.
Unless I was digital scrapbooking I’ve never printed a full page photo. After our trip to Europe this summer, I had a couple photos that I LOVED and I thought they would be perfect to print full size. By full size I mean 6×8 because that’s the size of our family album this year.
I must admit that it was so easy! All that was needed was a little cluster at the top of the photo and it was done. I will definitely be doing more of this size and may even try a 12×12 photo! I encourage you to try using a variety of photo sizes when you scrapbook – it really is fun!
Have a creative day!
