Today I’m going to share how to do the torn paper strip technique. It’s a simple technique that provides a fun little peek at something behind your main panel. It could be a piece of beautiful patterned paper or a scene that you stamped or maybe another clever idea you can come up with.
My peekaboo element is a piece of the beautiful snowflake specialty vellum from the 2022 July to December mini catalogue. It’s so pretty it deserves to be spotlighted.
This is such a simple technique but provides a nice touch. I just love the look of the peeled back card stock! To see how easy it is to make, check out the video below.
Measurements:
- Orchid Oasis: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (x2) and scrap for greeting
- Silver Foil: 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
- Orchid Oasis Metallic Ribbon: about 8″
I used the same technique to create the card below. Although this card uses the technique, it’s less about the reveal of the pretty paper (because I ended up covering most of it lol) and more about the peeled back strip.
Deadline is coming up soon for the Wintery Christmas card class featuring the beautiful Snowflake Specialty Vellum I used in todays card.
Until next time,
