Today I’m sharing some simple Christmas cards for another Christmas in July post! Is it too early to start making Christmas cards? I don’t think it is! I know I need a lot of cards for the holidays so starting early relieves the stress of getting them done in time.
In today’s post I’m sharing several simple card ideas using the One Horse Open Sleigh dsp. I chose these card designs because they really highlight this beautiful paper. These same designs can be used with any pretty paper and for any occasion.
The first few cards I share all share the same basic measurements and really make the patterned paper the focal point.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
- Matte: 4″ x 5-1/4″
- DSP: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
Where they differ is in where and how I add the greeting.
The ribbon varies depending on the colours that coordinate with the patterns on the paper.
For the next card I stepped it up a little bit by making the greeting a bit more of a focal point.
And then for the last card, I used scraps leftover from the pieces that I cut for the cards above.
The squares on this card measure 1-1/2″ and I used 2 each in 3 different patterns. This one is my favourite!
I hope this gives you a few ideas for making your own holiday cards! They don’t have to be time consuming, or elaborate to be beautiful!
Until next time,
