Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global September 2024 blog hop. Thank you so much for joining us. This months our challenge was anything goes!
As part of the Scrapbooking Global design team we participate in a monthly blog hop and challenges but anyone can join in if they’d like. We’d love to have you join us! Be sure to join the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group so you know when the sign up starts for our next hop and for tons of scrapbooking inspiration!
For this months blog hop I decided to use one of the new scrapbooking workshop kit – the Autumn to Remember. I just finished a series on using the Snow Day workshop kit and had so much fun I was excited to move on to the next.
Let’s Take a Look…
Our workshop kits include all the supplies needed to create three 2-page 12×12 layouts, including a cutting guide. They are perfect if you are looking for quick & easy layout ideas but they can also be a jumping off point if you want to get a bit creative.
I know exactly what photos I will be adding to this layout to finish it off. In October I’ll be heading out of town for a retreat and it’s in the country and every year they have this beautiful section of property where some of us go walking. The leaves will be turning by then so I’ll be able to get some great shots.
The Changes
I took the inspiration for one of the 2-page layouts and used many of the same pieces but made a few changes to make it my own. You can see what the layout is meant to look like here. Here’s what I changed/added:
- omitted the wood grain pattern paper – I want to save those two pages for another 2-page layout:)
- Left off the arrows and the yellow sticker strip across the bottom of both pages
- I used most of the same embellishments but reconfigured them to create clusters rather than just a smattering of embellishments.
- The journaling tag was cut in half – the top half used as a tuck in on the left page and the bottom, flagged bit used on the right page.
- If you look closely at the photo, you can see a bit of white around the edges, because the 12×12 card stock in the kits is our two tone card stock, and has a white core, I sanded around the edges ever so slightly. And all the layers of pattern paper were distressed using my paper snips. This is a great way to add a bit of texture to your projects.
- I loved the little round stickers that spell autumn but wanted them closer together and popped up so I did that.
- And finally added even more texture to the layout with a bit of linen thread and some faux glass dots.
I LOVE this kit – there’s so much that can be used to embellish your projects – a sticker sheet, two die cut sheets and then the sheet of wood pieces. When you add in the coordinating Autumn to Remember stamp set you can get even more creative!
If you’d like to see what else I create using this kit, be sure to check out my Kill a Kit club starting up in October where I’ll be sharing everything I make using the Autumn to Remember scrapbooking workshop kit.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed my Autumn to Remember layout share. Hop on over to Cheryl Taylor’s blog to see what she has created and then continue along for more inspiration.
