Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global October 2021 blog hop. This months theme is ‘Tag It’. I’ve actually had the idea for todays layout in my mind for awhile so was happy to see that I could apply it to the Tag It theme.
As part of the Scrapbooking Global design team we participate in a monthly blog hop and challenges but anyone can join in if they’d like. We’d love to have you join us! Be sure to join the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group so you know when the sign up starts for our next hop.
The details…
My idea was to create a border using various sized tags. So I looked through my patterned papers and came across the Heartwarming Hugs dsp that I had leftover from last year. There was only one big piece and then a bunch of small scraps left in the package. I was determined to make it work.
I knew I would need quite a few tags for the look I wanted to achieve so decided not to use tag dies. To make it simple I free hand cut all the pieces that I thought would work into tags and punched a hole. Then just started staggering them. Some were really short so I kept those at the front or strategically hid them behind other layers. I love how it turned out.
Adding ribbon or twine to each of the holes would have made the layout way too busy, it’s already heavy on patterns, so I chose to just add ribbon to a few of the holes. This was a great way to add some texture.
I thought I had my layout done when I realized I hadn’t done any stamping on it! That was when I decided to add the holly leaves and berries as a little embellishment cluster.
Thanks so much for visiting! Head on over to Sharni’s Blog to see what she created. Enjoy hopping along to see the beautiful projects that everyone else created!
Have a creative day!

Look at all those tags! What an adorable layout. The DSP pattern:colors are perfect. This worked really well with your photos/lights theme. Great job!
